The custard is always great and the steakburger California style is my favorite but don't take it form me try it all because that's what I do. On my way there now to try the pumpkin pie concrete.

So after my debacle at Lone Star, my choices nearby were limited. No to KFC, Taco Smell, or Applebee's. I am no fan of Freddy's but have had a decent hot dog and malt there before, so I thought why not. Oh good Lord. It was one of those days I should have stayed in the hotel and eaten leftovers. I go inside to use the can and thought I could order inside to go, but I get behind the geriatric crew who can't read the menu and have to have the employee explain every single item to them. Holy frijoles. So then I jumped out in the drive thru and order the hot dog combo with a regular chocolate malt. The fries were cold and chewy, the dog was totally smothered in mustard, the bun was dry like a crouton on one half, and the malt was powdery. I did get to eat the dog, but that was it. Where in the hell is a Culver's when I need it?

Fast, good and cheap! Those three words just about sum up Freddy's. We don't have a huge budget so we needed to save money, but didn't want to eat greasy food. They had good chicken strips and chili. There was barely any wait for the food, and the best part, it was cheap. If you want some good food fast and cheap I'd recommend Freddy's!

Worst service ever! Apparently the person at window taking orders has the listening capabilities of a toddler. We ended up with only half our order and it was still wrong!!!

Need to order a double. They try to stick you with mustard, pickle, onion for some reason. Just have to ask otherwise. The pbc&b has great potential, but need a little syrup of some kind to get it all working together. They make some effort, but really need more attention to cleaning dining area.

A "steakburger" is defined as a hamburger that is made from leaner cuts of beef than a normal hamburger. Think of it like the difference between a good single malt Scotch and a blended Scotch whiskey. Just like I enjoy drinking a single malt I occasionally enjoy a good "steakburger". But I also enjoy the mix of beef and fat flavor in a hamburger just like I do the flavor of a blended Scotch whiskey. What I am trying to say is that both are good and it all depends what you are in the mood for. Everything that Freddy's serves is good from the "steakburger" to the fries right down to the custard. I always order the #1 combo which is an Freddy's Original Double served with cheese, fries, and a drink. I like "Original" which is mustard, onions, and pickles. The pickles are dill pickle slices and the onions are raw. If you enjoy shoestring fries than you won't be disappointed with what Freddy's is serving. The seasoning for the fries is so good that it is also sold by the container. Although don't be tempted to add more seasoning from the container in the counter when you pick up your order. They season the fries just to the point that anymore is overpowering. Fry Sauce is available and I am not a fan, instead I prefer Heinz ketchup which is available at the condiment area. I don't always get custard but when I do I like a concrete which is similar to a DQ Blizzard that is made with custard. The outside decor would make you expect and 50's diner feel on the inside but that is not quite what you get. What you do get is a clean eating space with plenty of booths. You can also sit outside in those rare Kansas days where it is not too hot and/or windy. Living in Wichita and visiting the Freddy's location across from the Corporate office often, I have found that the service is better at the franchise locations like this one. The management is always walking the floor making sure the guests are happy and the staff always greets you with a smile.

Never been to a Freddy's as I attempt to avoid "fast food all together, however, 9:45 pm in Garden City, my dinning options are very limited. The staff was in "closing mode" so my expectations were diminished even more, thinking this is going to take a while. To my surprise, I got my patty melt to go in a very timely matter along with an order of fries they "just threw in." Good food, very good for fast food.
